About Alvaton Fire Department

Area MapAlvaton Fire Department is one of nine volunteer fire Departments serving Warren County Kentucky outside the City of Bowling Green. Established in 1972, and operating from three stations,  our 39 firefighters proudly protect 11,000+ residents and 4836 properties in 72 square miles of southeast Warren County providing primary fire suppression, medical first response, vehicle accident extrication, hazardous materials initial response, and fire prevention education. We have a classification of ISO Class 5 within 5 road miles of our three stations.

We operate under the authority of the Warren Fiscal Court as an independent non-profit organization dedicated to serving and protecting our community. We are governed by a Board of Directors elected by and from the community, who oversee our finances and operations.  Our Board meets each 1st Monday at 7pm at Station 3, the public is welcome.

We operate regularly, and train with the eight other Warren County Fire Departments, Bowling Green Fire Department, Medical Center EMS, Warren Co. Emergency Management, and all county and state law enforcement agencies.

Revenues

Our revenue comes primarily from voluntary annual dues, paid by our community’s residential and commercial property owners. These dues are collected by the Warren County Sheriff on annual property tax bills. This income is supplemented by nominal support from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Warren County government, and from fees for responses to non-member incidents. There is never a charge for any medical response, and residents who have paid dues for the current year are not charged a fee for responses.

Alvaton Fire Department is proud to be the only combination department in the Warren County area. We have one full-time firefighter and the remainder are all voluntary. Other than our one full-time firefighter, none of our firefighters and first responders recieve compensation for their time and dedication. Only a small annual incentive based on their individual participation in department responses, training, and other operations through the previous year.

Virtually all your dues are utilized for regular operation of the department, and for improvements to our level of service to our community.

We voluntarily have an annual independent audit of our financial records.
