The Alvaton Fire Department Training Division will hold its Fire Recruit graduation ceremony and badge pinning on Sunday, June 5th, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at the Warren County Courthouse (2nd Floor), located at 429 E.10th Ave. in downtown Bowling Green.
Recruit Class #6 consists of 11 recruits from Alvaton, Browning, Gott, Plano and Smiths Grove Fire Departments. The fire recruits, James Allred (AFD), DJ Buselmeier (AFD), Cameron Butz (AFD), Bryan Carrico (AFD), Darrel Lee (GFD), Chris McCoy (SGFD), Jimmy Myers (SGFD), Wyatt Rector (AFD), Clay Scudder, (BFD), Seth Stewart (PFD) and Emily Wilson (AFD), will be promoted to the rank of Firefighter.
The Recruit Academy lasts over 20 weeks and consists of over 200 hours of arduous training. The Recruits become proficient in all basic firefighting skills and many advanced techniques including: IFSAC Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations, National Incident Management Systems Levels 100, 200, 700 and 800, Wildland Firefighting Awareness, Emergency Vehicle Operations, in addition to the required hours of the Kentucky Fire Commission Firefighter 1 curriculum training. The graduating Recruits have also taken the exam for an internationally recognized Firefighter certification through the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) with the results pending.
Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

Activity for year 2015
Alvaton, KY, January 5, 2016– The Alvaton Fire Department would like to announce, 2015 year end activity report.
The department has worked hard to provide its members with professional emergency services for the past 43 years. As our community grows we strive to provide the best protection that any fire department can provide.
In 2014 we responded to 687 calls for service, we were up 36 calls, to 723 calls for service in 2015.
The following is a breakdown of calls we responded to throughout the 2015 year.
Structure fire response: 38
Vehicle fire response: 39
Brush fire response: 23
Injury accidents response: 122
Medical response: 332
Fire/CO alarm responses: 81
All other response: 88
The firefighters logged 2118 hours of time on the scene of incidents, and they also logged 1677 hours of training for the 2015 year.
We would like to thank the citizens of the Alvaton Fire District for their support throughout the year.
