The 2008 Fire Prevention Open House was held on Sunday afternoon October 12th and was a great success! Well over 150 people from our community visited us and enjoyed food, games, extrication and foam demos, received information about fire and home safety and got to see our apparatus and equipment. Most important is the opportunity for our citizens to get to know our firefighters and we got to know many of them. More than one person attending expressed interest in becoming an Alvaton firefighter. Photos from the Open House will be posted here shortly.
Special thanks goes out to the numerous local businesses that donated prizes given to our visitors, to StatCare / Air Methods and Air Evac who both had helicopters on display, to Medical Center EMS and to the news outlets that helped us get the word out.
Most of all thanks to all the Alvaton firefighters whose outstanding work makes this event possible.
We look forward to seeing more of you next year at the 2009 Open House!
