Auxiliary Overview

Recruitment for 2015 is currently closed.

• Exceptions will be made for individuals with current KY 150 or IFSAC FF1 and above certifications
• Recruitment for 2016 will reopen during the summer of 2015

Auxiliary Members of the Department are those persons who actively engage in support and fund raising activities for the Department. They are excluded from firefighting and emergency operation of the Department.

Auxiliary membership is open to any resident of the Alvaton fire district or a contiguous area who meets the following requirements:

a. Must be 18-years of age or older;

b. Must have successfully completed the Department’s Auxiliary Probation procedure

c. Auxiliary members may not have an active Kentucky firefighter number with Alvaton Fire Department (prior service firefighters must be moved to inactive in the State Fire and Rescue System to be eligible for Auxiliary Membership)

d. Must agree to operate within the standard operating and safety guidelines established by the Department.

e. Must pass and maintain a criminal background check clear of felonies. Any felony will automatically disqualify a person from Auxiliary Membership. Any other criminal activity may disqualify the Auxiliary Member of their membership (determined by the Fire Chief and Board of Directors.
